In the exhibition Suspended Presences. Images of Exploitation, Franz Wanner engages with a suppressed chapter of German history: National Socialist forced labour, its systematic entrenchment within the Nazi regime, and its social and economic repercussions, which continue to resonate to this day.

The exhibition project AlpiTypes is dedicated to the contemporary reinterpretation of applied graphics developed in the first half of the 20th century in the Alpine area, which corresponds to the present-day regions of South Tyrol, Tyrol and Trentino.
DAS JAHRESPROGRAMM 2026 IM KUNSTHAUS MERAN
Kunst Meran präsentiert das Kulturprogramm für 2026, das sich zwischen Kunst und Architektur, kuratorischer Forschung und partizipativen Praktiken bewegt und einen besonderen Fokus auf gesellschaftliche, politische und geschlechterbezogene Fragestellungen legt. Das Jahresprogramm umfasst drei bedeutende Ausstellungsprojekte, eine Künstlerresidenz sowie zahlreiche öffentliche Veranstaltungen.
Das Programm setzt sich kritisch mit gängigen Erzählungen über Europa auseinander. Dabei kommen auch trikontinentale und diasporische Perspektiven zu Wort, die die traditionellen Gründungsmythen Europas hinterfragen. Andererseits eröffnet das Programm Dialog- und Beteiligungsräume, die der Stadt Meran gewidmet sind und Vergangenheit und Gegenwart miteinander verknüpfen. Dieser Ansatz zieht sich zudem wie ein roter Faden durch die im Kunsthaus kuratierten Projekte.

A house for contemporary art in the old part of Merano
Open all year round, Merano Arte presents changing exhibitions in the fields of fine arts, architecture, literature, music, photography, and new media on 500 square meters of exhibition space over three floors. The body responsible for the institution is the non-profit association Kunst Meran Merano Arte, which is financed by public and private funds.

Tuesday - Saturday: 10am-6pm
Sundays and public holidays: 11am-6pm
Closed on Mondays.
