On the occasion of the first solo exhibition in Italy by Cuban artist and educator René Francisco, Kunsthaus Merano presents a comprehensive overview of his more than forty-year-long practice. Through installations, film, drawings, paintings, as well as pedagogical research, Francisco reflects on power structures, critiques of consumerism and utopian ideals. At the heart of Cómplice lies the concept of complicity: a deep emotional and social bond formed through collaboration, participation and friendship.
