Vote for Women

“Vote for Women” is an exhibition project with the curator Anne Schloen in cooperation with the Beirat für Chancengleichheit [Advisory Board for Equal Opportunities] of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano-South Tyrol.

In the exhibited works, internationally renowned women artists reflect on the complex and extensive change of the role of women in society. Documentations of performances, video installations, photographs, drawings, pictures, and objects, from the seventies to today, will be shown.

The exhibition marks the introduction of women’s suffrage in South Tyrol in 1948. The subjective viewpoint of the artists is counterpoised to a historical overview of the role of women in society. The objectively scientific analysis on the one hand and the subjectively artistic assessment on the other create a multi-faceted image of the history of women.
