Cul zuffel e l’aura dado
Gion A. Caminada
16. April bis 26. Juni 2005
The
annual architectural exhibition 2005 is dedicated to the architect
Gion Caminada from the Grisons, whose works are closely related
to Kunst Meran's umbrella program .scapes.
Gion Caminada is one of the main representatives of contemporary
Swiss architecture, and he is held in high esteem around the
world. For roughly ten years, he has been dealing with his
Swiss home town Vrin in Val Lumnezia where he not only works
as an architect and town planner, but has also been politically
active.
The exhibition gives an overview of the complete works of
Gion Caminada and grants insight into his main concepts of
town planning and environmental protection. Based on his buildings
and projects, the exhibition shows how Gion Caminada approaches
and prepares planning processes by doing basic socio-economic
research and thus solving architectural problems analytically
at first.
By numerous thoroughly illustrated building projects, the
exhibition also provides documentation on the wide variety
of design options that have developed for solid wood constructions
through Gion Caminada and the - often underestimated - broad
range of looks concrete and in-situ concrete can take on.
Apart from drawings and models, the photographs, all taken
by Lucia Degonda, add to the cohesive presentation of the
implemented building projects.
In conjunction with the exhibition, side programs will take
place that were put together under the motto "touching
scapes":
