The Architecture of the 1920s and 1930s in Merano

Opening: 03.10.2015, 11:00
Duration: 04.10.2015 - 11.01.2016
Curators: Schmidt Magdalene, Walter Gadner

In an intensive cooperation with the municipal archives of Merano, it was possible to sift the projects and put them in the context of the architectural styles of that period. The presented buildings document the period concerned and show the variety of buildings that typify it. They range from mixed forms during the transition from Historicism to Modernism - accessorized with local elements - to the puristic, unadorned buildings of Rationalism, down to the monumental, heavily decorated buildings of the Scuola Romana.
